Rehabilitation Therapy

Advena Living of Clay Center offers short-term rehab services and post-acute care for community members who are working hard to recover and return home after surgery, illness or injury. We also offer long-term rehabilitation and care for our members who need additional support and personalized attention for improved function and quality of life.

Using intensive physical and occupational therapies, our team collaborates with community members to develop a clear path forward and accomplish each individual’s specific health goals.

As a source of support through the rehabilitation process, we will help you achieve greater independence and mobility through:

  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech therapy

Physical Therapy

Community members focus on improvement of coordination, balance, strength and endurance. Through evaluation and treatment programs, our therapists can treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Amputations
  • Arthritis
  • Balance/gait disorders
  • Low back and neck pain
  • Other orthopedic/athletic injuries
  • Treatment following joint replacement surgery

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists use goal-directed activity to help restore, maintain and improve daily living skills. The objective is to assess each community member’s ability for personal care and provide modified techniques and/or adaptive devices, as necessary, to assist in achieving the skills for routine daily living. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Hand rehabilitation
  • Neuromuscular re-education
  • Retraining in daily living activities
  • Stroke rehabilitation
  • Wheelchair management

Speech Therapy

Speech and language pathologists focus on improvements in swallowing, hearing, speech and language proficiency. The goal is to assess and provide treatment that helps the community member recover lost skills or develop new ones. Treatment is provided to individuals who have a range of diagnoses such as:

  • Motor speech disorders
  • Swallowing disorders
  • Language disorders that affect ability to communicate
  • Cognitive disorders
